The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection ( IBPS) SBI Exam

- Office Assistant (Clerk) – Prelims + Mains (No Interview)

Office Assistant (Clerk) – Exam Pattern
Prelims: Reasoning Ability and Numerical Ability (80 questions, 45 minutes)
- Sectional timing is applicable
- Both sectional and overall cutoffs must be cleared
Mains:
- Reasoning & Numerical Ability – 50 marks each
- General Awareness – 40 marks
- English/Hindi Language – 40 marks
- Computer Knowledge – 20 marks
- Total duration: 120 minutes
Selection: Based only on Mains performance
Officer Scale I (PO) – Exam Pattern
Officer Scale I follows the same Prelims structure as Clerk but includes an interview after Mains for final selection.
- Prelims: Reasoning + Quantitative Aptitude
- Mains: Reasoning, Quant, GA, Language, Computer Knowledge
- Interview round after Mains
Officer Scale II & III – Single Exam Pattern
Officer Scale II and III candidates appear for a single objective exam followed by an interview. These roles require deeper banking and financial awareness.

- English/Hindi Language
- Computer Knowledge
- Total duration: 120 minutes
Marking Scheme & Negative Marking
- Correct answers fetch 1 to 1.25 marks depending on section
- Wrong answers deduct 0.25 or proportionate negative marks
- No penalty for unattempted questions
Strategy: Accuracy is more important than attempts. Skipping doubtful questions is safer than blind guessing.
Section-wise IBPS RRB Syllabus
Reasoning Ability: Puzzles, seating arrangement, syllogism, coding-decoding, blood relations, inequalities, logical reasoning.
Quantitative Aptitude: Arithmetic, algebra, DI, percentages, ratio, time & work, speed & distance, averages, probability.
English / Hindi: Reading comprehension, grammar, vocabulary, cloze test, sentence correction.
General Awareness: Banking awareness, current affairs (last 6 months), RBI, economy, government schemes.
