Profile building plays an extremely important role in the overall development of students
during their high school years (9-12th grade) and also helps build their resume while applying for some of the top universities around the world like the Ivy League universities and UCs (University of California) in the USA, Top Universities in UK, Europe, Canada or Australia. These are activities that help build your skills, knowledge, and overall well-being and prepare you for the tough road of undergraduate journey in abroad countries. The preparation has to ideally start once a student enters their 9th grade and go on till
their 12th grade before they start applying for universities abroad.

There is no set precedent to be followed for the activities; it can be anything and everything per the student’s passion, interests, and even hobbies. Some of the popular activities that student get into are- research, Entrepreneurship activities/roles, internships, online/offline courses related to their intended majors, Sports activities, leadership in school or otherwise, Volunteering, etc.

Challenges faced by the students –

1. Lack of management and identification of the right activities to suit the child’s interest.
2. Going to International Boards like IB and A levels, students are accustomed to doing some activities in their school, however the same alone is not enough to land into top colleges.
3. Students in State boards, ICSE or CBSE, do not get enough opportunities to truly build their profile.
