Admission Requirements for MBBS in Italy
1. Age: The student must be 17 years or above as on December 31 of the year of entry.
2. Educational Qualification: 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (PCB). General category students require a minimum of 50% in PCB, while reserved category students require a minimum of 40%.
3. NEET Qualification: Indian students should pass the NEET exam in order to be eligible for admission.
4. English Proficiency: Although most of the universities accept students without IELTS, there could be a condition for the provision of English language proficiency (e.g., IELTS 6.5 with no single component score less than 6).
Entrance Test – IMAT (International Medical Admissions Test)
Most state universities in Italy make it compulsory for students to appear for the IMAT for English-medium medical courses admission.
• Registration: Starts in early July and ends in late July. All online.
• Exam Pattern: 60 multiple-choice questions, to be answered in 100 minutes.
• Scoring: 1.5 marks for correct response, 0.4 marks penalty for incorrect response, and 0 marks for not attempting.
• Exam Centers: Indian students can give the IMAT in New Delhi.
