About the AILET General Test
The All India Law Entrance Test (AILET) is a national-level entrance examination conducted by the National Law University (NLU), Delhi. It is designed for candidates aspiring to pursue law programs at NLU Delhi, including B.A.LL.B. (Hons.), LL.M., and Ph.D. programs.
Key Features of AILET 2023:
1. Exam Date: AILET 2023 was scheduled to be conducted on December 11, 2022.
2. Application Process: The application process for AILET 2023 started on September 7, 2022, and the last date to apply was November 15, 2022.
3. Exam Pattern: The AILET exam pattern underwent changes in 2023. The test now consists of three sections – English Language, Logical Reasoning, and Current Affairs & General Knowledge. The English Language section includes 50 questions, Current Affairs & General Knowledge has 30 questions, and Logical Reasoning comprises 70 questions, making a total of 150 questions for the exam.
4. Negative Marking: There is a negative marking system in place, where 0.25 marks are deducted for each incorrect answer.
5. Eligibility Criteria:
• For the BA LLB (Hons) program, candidates must have passed 10+2 or an equivalent examination with a minimum of 45% aggregate marks (40% for SC/ST/PWD candidates).
• For the LLM program, candidates need an LLB or equivalent degree with at least 50% marks (45% for SC/ST/PWD).
• For the Ph.D. program, candidates require an LL.M. or an equivalent law degree with 55% marks (50% for SC/ST/PWD).
6. Admission Process: The AILET score is used for admission to NLU Delhi’s law programs.
